Are you doing it the right way?
There are many discussions and debates happen over the topic of hanging curtains rightly. Here we are trying to give you some tips on the facts while hanging the curtains. Curtains remains very important for a room since it provides more privacy and controls lighting. Let’s read on to find more on these.
Add width to the rod
It is always preferable to make a wider rod than the width of your window. This will not allow room for the panels to hang on either side of your window and will force the panels to cover the window at all times. It also tricks your eye into thinking the window is much larger than it actually is. Interesting, isn’t it?
Make sure you use enough fabric
Nobody likes to see an incomplete curtain. So make it look full, not scanty. In case you actually plan to close your curtains on any occasion, it should be roughly between two and 2.5 times the width of the actual window. Now you know the trick!
Hang it high!
In case you want to make your windows look taller, this is the solution. The higher you have the rod, the taller the window will appear, so fix your curtain rod closer to the ceiling than the top of your window.
No! Not too short!
The trend is to let the fabric fall to the floor, unless you are using cafe-style curtains. The three by fourth look may not give a desired effect of the curtain. If you are concerned about your curtains getting dirty, then cut them right before it hitting the floor.
Choose the apt fabric!
Make sure your fabric accompanies the color of your room and the purpose of it. It is always advisable to use lighter shades for the drawing room and dining hall, moreover it gives a casual look. Denser the shades, it blocks as much light and very much suitable for bedrooms. For thicker fabrics, look for materials like Velvets and cotton for lighter fabrics.
Make sure you have a Pattern
A proper pattern of hanging curtains will give a signature look to your dream place. You can use different patterns for different rooms but makes sure it goes with the mood of the room.
